About the Event
The Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) presents its Holiday Feature on Dec. 9, 8 pm, at the Power Mac Center in Circuit Makati and on Dec. 10, 6 pm, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater at Ateneo de Manila University.
Under the baton of Principal Conductor and Artistic Director Arturo Molina, the program features Edward Elgar’s intriguing Enigma Variations, which vividly paints a portrait of the composer’s friends, family, and loves through music.
Also featured in the program is the Philippine Premiere of British composer Victor Herbert’s Cello Concerto to be rendered by American guest cellist Dr. Kimberly Patterson; and the World Premiere of Celestine, a new work composed by Joshua Cerdenia, a New York-based young Filipino composer.
The MSO, the first symphony orchestra in Asia, is celebrating its 91st anniversary this year by showcasing five new Filipino works in their concert season Leadership and Creativity, staying true to their vision of presenting world-class music and Filipino talent in a fresh and entertaining way.
