About the Event

The University of the Philippines Mathematics Club (UPMC) will be hosting “The 43rd Annual Nationwide Search for the Math Wizard,” one of the country's most prestigious math competitions in the collegiate level where hundreds of students from all over the country gather to showcase their exceptional abilities in Mathematics and compete for the title.

Endorsed by the Commission on the Higher Education, the said event will be held on the 27th day of February 2016 in the University of the Philippines Diliman; Institute of Mathematics Building (elimination round) and NCPAG Auditorium (final round).

The registration fee for the event is P250. Aside from the bragging rights of being the 43rd Math Wizard, cash prizes will also be given: 4th place – P1000, 3rd place – P2500, 2nd place – P5000, and 1st place – P10000.

The coverage of the entire competition shall be Algebra (Linear, Vector, and Analytic), Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics and Probability, Logic, Number Theory, Elementary Calculus (Differential and Integral), and their applications.

The challenge is not easy, but the rewards are great. More than anything else, being held as the Math Wizard is a great honor for the contestant and the school represented. Along with the success of every competition is a step forward to the realization of the dreams of very aspiring mathematician.
