Brendan Fraser to Narrate Disneynature’s “Sea Lions of the Galapagos” – First-Look Images Released

Disneynature is making waves once again! The first-look images for “Sea Lions of the Galapagos” have just been released, offering a sneak peek into the breathtaking adventure streaming on Disney+ starting April 22. Narrated by Academy Award® winner Brendan Fraser, the documentary introduces audiences to Leo, an energetic sea lion pup learning the ropes of life in the stunning Galapagos Islands.

Meet Leo: The Adventurous Star of the Film
According to director Hugh Wilson, Leo was the perfect choice for the film’s main character. “It was crucial for our story that Leo was an adventurer, and when the team encountered one particular pup, we knew we had our star,” said director Hugh Wilson. “Regularly supplied with lots of milk by his devoted mum, Luna, Leo was full of energy and keen to make his mark on the world. Full of character from day one, he was constantly up to no good—getting into sticky situations.”
But life as a young sea lion isn’t just fun and games. From racer snakes to massive Galapagos sharks, Leo must be on high alert to survive in this ever-changing ecosystem.

Brendan Fraser Brings the Story to Life
Brendan Fraser’s voice brings warmth, humor, and depth to the film’s narration. “Working with Brendan was an honor, and he delivered a great performance with the narration,” continued Wilson. “He was able to convey a range of emotions from high-stakes drama and important factual content to intimate comedic moments. He was particularly strong in regard to the comedy—a crucial ingredient for Disneynature films—and it was great to see him really lean into those moments.”
Adding to the magic is a stunning original score by composer Raphaelle Thibaut, enriching the story’s emotional highs and lows.
