Disney+ is set to captivate audiences with the premiere of FX’s “Shōgun,” a global event series, on February 27. This 10-episode limited series will launch with two episodes, followed by weekly releases. In anticipation, Disney+ has unveiled striking new artwork for “Shōgun.”

Set in 1600 Japan, at the brink of a monumental civil war, “Shōgun” adapts James Clavell’s bestselling novel into a gripping narrative. Hiroyuki Sanada leads as “Lord Yoshii Toranaga,” battling existential threats from the Council of Regents. An unexpected ally arrives in the form of “John Blackthorne” (Cosmo Jarvis), an English pilot with secrets that could shift the power balance. The lives of Toranaga and Blackthorne intertwine with “Toda Mariko” (Anna Sawai), a Christian noblewoman and translator, torn between her faith, duty, and new alliances.
