Netflix Philippines made history by launching its first-ever Filipino Netflix Original series, “Replacing Chef Chico.” The star-studded event at Shangri-La Makati and Glorietta 4 was a vibrant celebration, bringing together celebrities, press, influencers, and a throng of excited fans.
Star-Studded Promotions: A Day with the Stars
Piolo Pascual, Alessandra de Rossi, Sam Milby, director Dan Villegas, and showrunner Antoinette Jadaone, the creative forces behind “Replacing Chef Chico,” were the toast of the event. They engaged with the media and fans, sharing insights and excitement about the series.
Piolo Pascual shared his enthusiasm: “I’m proud to be a part of this. What’s nice about the series is contagious siya. You get to really feel our culture, our dishes. And working with these actors and the brains behind it, masarap ‘yong experience. So I hope it will resonate with the audience as well when they watch it.”

Antoinette Jadaone highlighted the series’ focus on Filipino cuisine: “I think ‘yong Filipino food, lalo siyang sumasarap kasi kinakain natin siya with the people we love. At ‘yon ‘yung lalabas in every episode of REPLACING CHEF CHICO. Yes, we feature Filipino cuisine – laing, adobo, kare-kare – pero in every episode, mayroong story na kasama ka sa hapag kainan. Hindi ka lang audience, kasama ka sa hapag kainan ng guests doon sa restaurant na Hain.”
Dan Villegas added, “Pwede nating ipag-mayabang, pwede nating ipagmalaki ang Filipino cuisine. It’s high time na ma-recognize siya hindi lang sa ating bansa, pati sa labas.”

The event’s red carpet and fan event at Glorietta Activity Center was graced by celebrities such as Maja Salvador, Catriona Gray, Empoy Marquez, Kakai Baustista, Arci Muñoz, and Liza Soberano, adorned in modern interpretations of traditional Filipino attire. The evening was also a journey curated for fans, with a lucky few partaking in a fan activity called Drama in a Pot that got them up close and personal with the lead stars. It turned into a memorable experience for fans, with select attendees enjoying a special interactive segment with the stars.
The evening’s climax unfolded at Glorietta Cinemas 6 and 7, where almost 800 attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of “Replacing Chef Chico’s” first two episodes. The audience’s reaction was palpable, filling the cinema with applause and anticipation for the episodes to follow. Showrunners and cast members shared final messages with the excited audience, capping off a night of glamour, anticipation, and celebration.
