Released back in August, Netflix’s The Sandman tells the story of Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams and one of the seven Endless. When a man uses an occult ritual and traps Morpheus, the Endless was held captive for over a hundred years. Without the King of Dreams, chaos ensued in both the dreaming world and the waking world. After his escape, Morpheus finds his kingdom in ruins, and he goes on a journey to restore his powers and his kingdom.
The show’s source material, Neil Gaiman’s comic book series of the same name, first debuted in 1989. The critically-acclaimed title was among the first graphic novels to be part of The New York Times Best Seller list.
