WATCH: Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’ on Netflix Reveals a New Trailer
A new teaser trailer for Netflix’s stop-motion musical, Pinocchio, has been released!
We now get a better look at director Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson’s take on the classic tale, with the trailer finally featuring Pinocchio and his father, Gepetto. Watch the new teaser trailer for Pinocchio below:
The first teaser trailer for Pinocchio was released in January but only revealed the Talking Cricket. Now, the new trailer shows us the grieving woodcarver Gepetto and the wooden boy he carved and treated as a son, Pinocchio. It also teased a story about “loss and love”, and a story that “you may think you know, but you don’t.”
While most may know the story of Pinocchio from Disney’s classic film, which is also getting its own live-action film this year, fans of Del Toro may expect that this story would be more loyal to the original source material, the novel by Italian author Carlo Collodi.
The voice cast of the film includes Ewan McGregor as the Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, Gregory Mann as Pinocchio, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton.
The film will be released on Netflix and in select theaters sometime in December this year.
