More ‘Fear Street’ Movies are Reportedly in The Works on Netflix
The Fear Street trilogy on Netflix was an instant hit last year, especially for fans of horror and slasher movies. For the viewers who thirst for more blood from the franchise, Bloody Disgusting bears some good news.
After author R.L. Stine– writer of the books that the films were loosely adapted from– teased that there may be more Fear Street films coming to Netflix, Bloody Disgusting now reports that the streaming giant “is very deep into development on more Fear Street.”
No details about these films have been revealed yet but given the positive response towards the trilogy, it’s safe to say that many viewers are excited to see more of this film franchise. Back in July last year, the films’ director Leigh Janiak told IndieWire that she was hoping to further expand Fear Street with more titles.
“I think that my hope is that audiences like it enough that we can start building out [more], we can think about what another trilogy would be, what stand-alones would be, what TV would be,” Janiak said. “I don’t even think about it like TV or movies exactly anymore. That’s the great thing about Netflix and about what ‘Fear Street’ is, which is kind of a hybrid new thing. I’m excited about the possibility of what else can happen.”
The Fear Street trilogy, tells three stories across three time periods that are connected by one town and a deadly curse. A string of murders once again plagues the town of Shadyside, and Deena and her friends find themselves at the center of it all. When they discover that the killings are connected to their town’s dark past, they make it their mission to uncover the truth about their town and put a stop to these brutal murders.
You can watch the Fear Stree trilogy: Fear Street Part 1: 1994, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, and Fear Street Part 3: 1666 exclusively on Netflix.
