WATCH: Amazon Prime’s ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Series Unveils Title Trailer

The streaming platform has just unveiled the title of their upcoming prequel series from the famous medieval fantasy franchise. In a short teaser, molten metal is seen filling a wooden mold before forming into the show’s title: The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
The epic drama is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The show follows an ensemble of familiar and new characters who must face the long-feared reemergence of evil in their world, taking viewers from the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map.
The cast includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, and Sir Lenny Henry, with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay serving as showrunners.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set for release on Amazon Prime on September 2 this year.
