Divisoria (or Divi to its local patrons) is an old business district at the heart of Manila, comprised of malls and markets that sell virtually everything you need for less. Considered as every bargain hunter's shopping mecca, Divisoria is the place to go when you're in need of houseware, clothes, accessories, costumes, toys, food, textile, wedding gowns, and all sorts of supplies imaginable.

Shopping Tips

If you want to avoid heavy traffic, be there as early as 7:00 am. Divisoria becomes extra crowded during pre-Christmas season, from September to December.

Haggling is an accepted shopping practice in Divisoria. Ask the saleslady "May tawad pa ba?" ("Can you give it at a lower price?") after she quotes the initial price. You can also get items at lower prices when you buy in bulk or wholesale (6 items is the standard).

Wear comfortable and light clothes: basic shirt, jeans, and slippers/rubber shoes.

Be vigilant in guarding your valuables.
