Over three hundred years of Spanish occupation in the Philippines left the country with heavy cultural influences-- most highlighted of which is Christianity. The archipelago is home to a number of Spanish colonial churches. These churches reflect the adaptation of Spanish and Latin American architecture to the local tropical environment.
