GCash Stories launches “Turing” for Pride Month, an inspiring tale of strength, persistence, and the financial empowerment of LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs.

As Pride Month paints the town in a vibrant spectrum of love, GCash Stories launches a powerful new episode featuring Turing Quinto, the emblem of GCash’s “Werk With Pride” advocacy. Directed by the renowned Antoinette Jadaone, this film not only adds sparkle to Pride Month but also underlines GCash’s steadfast commitment to inclusivity and financial empowerment.

Turing Quinto: A Tale of Resilience and Pride

Turing Quinto’s star rose when she appeared on the debut season of Drag Race Philippines. This short film delves into Turing’s aspirations, her fierce determination to excel in life, and the hurdles she, like many breadwinners, grapples with.

With the same spirit as anyone else pursuing a brighter future, Turing works with pride. She stands as a beacon of strength for her family, ensuring them, “Ako nang bahala sa pag tambling, Ma” amidst the hardships they encounter.

In a testament to her unyielding spirit, Turing performs in her living room, fueled by the cheers of her family and the empowering support of GCash. The digital financial platform enables her to receive real-time tips from fans nationwide.

GCash: A Trusted Companion in Turing’s Journey

Recounting her experience, Turing shares, “Sobrang proud ako sa film na ‘to, kasi it really showed how GCash was there during some of my most challenging times,” shares Turing. “Especially nung lockdown kasi virtual shows lang ang nagagawa naming drag performers kasi sarado lahat ng bars and clubs, ang laking tulong ng GCash para makatanggap kami ng tips in real time, and I got to continue doing what I love the most.” Turing highlights the invaluable aid GCash provided, especially during lockdown when virtual shows were the only avenue for drag performers.

GCash GTalks: A Space for Meaningful Conversations

Turing’s GStories film premiered at the GTalks: Werk With Pride event on June 22. GCash’s GTalks creates a space for insightful discussions on topics resonating with everyday Filipino experiences. This includes access to financial services, diversity and inclusion, and climate action.

The Werk With Pride event also held a panel discussion with successful LGBTQIA+ business owners who shared their own triumphant GCash stories.
