Breakout jazz artist and versatile instrumentalist, Laufey, has revealed her latest masterpiece, “From The Start,” courtesy of AWAL Recordings. “‘From The Start’ is a bossa nova inspired song about being in love with your best friend…who is in love with someone else. Following her ‘Typical of Me’ EP, she was named Best New Artist in Jazz and Blues at the Icelandic Music Awards and hosted her own show on BBC Radio 3/BBC Sounds. Her album ‘Everything I Know About Love’ debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Alternative New Artist Album chart, and the lead single “Valentine” reached the top of the Spotify Jazz Chart. In 2022, Laufey was the most streamed jazz artist on Spotify, with a whopping 425 million streams across all platforms.
