Seeley grew up in Toronto and fell in love with performing. He was cast in Hal Prince's revival of Showboat and stayed with the production for a year. In 2005, Seeley started working with Ray Cham, an established producer and together they wrote "Get'cha Head in the Game", a song that was a nominee in the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy category, Best Original Music and Lyrics. In 2009, Seeley tried his hand at Broadway, taking on the role of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid.
Seeley appeared on a number of spin-off albums from Disney's films and television shows, as well as being the "singing voice" for Zac Efron's character, Troy, in the hit television movie High School Musical, which is also the main reason he was the replacement of Efron on the movie's tour. He has guest starred on shows such as One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, and Guiding Light.
