Lyndsy Marie Fonseca (born January 7, 1987) is an American actress best known for portraying the roles of Colleen Carlton on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, Dylan Mayfair on the ABC series Desperate Housewives, and Ted Mosby's future daughter on How I Met Your Mother. She had a supporting role in the 2010 superhero action-comedy film Kick-Ass.
As of 2013, she portrays the role of Alexandra "Alex" Udinov on The CW action-drama series Nikita.

Fonseca was born in Oakland, California, the daughter of Lima Lynn (née Bergmann) and James Victor Fonseca. Her father is of Portuguese descent and her mother is of German and Portuguese ancestry. Fonseca was raised first in Alameda and then Moraga. She was discovered there by a talent manager and immediately moved to Los Angeles for her first pilot season at age 13 in the middle of the school year. The following year she booked her breakthrough role, playing Colleen Carlton on The Young and the Restless with a three-year contract. With that, her parents moved the whole family to Los Angeles. Since the end of her contract, she has booked many television guest spots, television movies, two pilots and an independent feature film.

Fonseca married artist and writer Matt Smiley in April 2009. The couple split in July 2012 and Fonseca filed for divorce in 2013, citing "irreconcilable differences."
