Kerry Bishé

Actor
Kerry Bishé (born May 1, 1984) is a New Zealander actress, known for playing Lucy Bennett, the main character in season nine of medical comedy Scrubs. Bishé also starred as Billie Kashmiri in Fox's one-off science fiction drama Virtuality, originally intended to be a full series, and starred in the critically acclaimed drama film Argo as Kathy Stafford. --- Bishé was born in New Zealand, before moving to the United States. She attended Montclair Kimberley Academy (where her father, Kenneth Bishé, taught Social Studies), graduating in 2002, then studied at Northwestern University. Bishé toured professionally with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks during the summer of 2004, performing the role of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. She also appeared in a 2006 production of Eugene O'Neill's The Hairy Ape and in the Roundabout revival of Shaw's Pygmalion. Bishé made her screen debut in 2007, when she portrayed Sarah Ronson in The Half Life of Mason Lake, a low-budget production. After extra appearances on the film adaptation of Sex and the City and The Lucky Ones, and a small role in 2008's The Understudy, Bishé was cast in Night Life, a TV movie directed by Scrubs star Zach Braff. The production did not make Bishé well-known, but did introduce her to Braff, with whom she would later work on Scrubs. Bishé then appeared in an episode of the US version of Life on Mars, alongside Harvey Keitel, and an episode of cable TV series Royal Pains in 2009. Bishé then took the chance to play Billie Kashmiri in proposed Fox sci-fi series Virtuality. However, as the series did not receive a full pick-up, the two-hour pilot was aired as a TV movie. In December 2009, Bishé became the lead role on ABC medical sitcom Scrubs. Bishé played Lucy Bennett, the show's new narrator, taking over from Zach Braff. ABC cancelled the show on May 14, 2010. Bishé co-starred in the 2010 independent movie, Nice Guy Johnny, with Edward Burns and Matt Bush. She also played a supporting role in Kevin Smith's 2011 horror film Red State and Ben Affleck's 2012 drama film Argo. Bishé co-starred in the 2013 independent movie, Grand Piano, with Elijah Wood.
