Matthew Humphreys

Matthew Humphreys (born January 22, 1974) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his role as Doug Jones on the Current TV series, Bar Karma. --- Matthew wanted to be an actor ever since he was a child. However, during his adolescence, he went through feelings of affinity towards many careers, including that of a stockbroker and a Navy SEAL. He later settled on the career choice of acting, and toured with a regional theatre company all over the Midwest and New York. Matthew decided to return to graduate school after his time with the theater company. He attended and graduated from the Yale School of Drama, after which he received more numerous and more recognizable acting roles. Matthew has said that he usually can get a "feel for" what the producers and directors want for a character when he goes in for an audition, but he was given very little information as to the personality of his Bar Karma character Doug Jones when he went in for the audition. Thus, he had to improvise and be creative during the audition process. Humphreys has stated that, other than his role in Bar Karma, his favorite job to date was portraying the vampire Dixon in the CW series Supernatural. He enjoyed the good company on the Supernatural set, and was especially thrilled about working with late director Kim Manners, whom he called "absolutely unbelievable".
