Gal Gadot swingsĀ on lightning strikes in the first trailer forĀ Wonder Woman 1984!
Two years ago, we watched Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman endĀ the first World War. Next year, we’re going to see her againĀ living her life in the year 1984, and interestingly, Steve Trevor is joining her in theĀ ’80s.
Check out the film’s trailer below:
Back in 2016, we finally got to see Gal Gadot’s Wonder WomanĀ up on theĀ big screen as she debuted in the filmĀ Batman V Superman. Being one of the key charactersĀ forĀ the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Wonder Woman also took part in the 2017Ā Justice LeagueĀ film before getting her standalone film the same year.
The first Wonder Woman film was set during World War I where the Amazonian Princess Diana first met the US pilot Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pines. The film had a (spoiler alert!)Ā tragic end for the two with Steve sacrificing himself in a plane explosion. But lo and behold, Steve is back in 1984 and just like Diana, he hadn’t aged a bit.
The reason behind Steve’s return has not yet been revealed. In the trailer,Ā Steve seems to be clueless about the present world, so we can only assume that time had somehow stopped for him since the first World War. Diana showing him around thatĀ 1984 setting is evenĀ quite reminiscient of how Steve guided her in the world outside the Amazon.
As for the main villains,Ā Wonder Woman 1984Ā will pin the superhero against The Cheetah and Max Lord. Also featured in the trailer is Wonder Woman’sĀ epic new armor of gold which was earlier revealed in the film’s first poster.
Along with the release of the film’s first trailer, character posters have also been unveiled. Alongside Gal Gadot and Chris Pine are starsĀ Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah andĀ Pedro Pascal as Max Lord. Check the posters out below:
