Edsa Shangri-La, Manila ushers in the year of the Water Tiger with auspicious dining and a collection of delicacies.

From 7a.m. to 9 p.m, classic Nian Gao or tikoy delicacies are available at the Chinese New Year counter located at the hotel lobby until February 1, 2022, and at Summer Palace until February 15, 2022. Given as gifts or savored at home, these glutinous rice cakes are believed to bring prosperity for the year to come. These delicacies are available in various flavors such as classic with berries, radish, and taro, as well as different shapes as the celebrated fish shape and gold bar. Nian Gao rates start at Php1,118 net. Chinese New Year themed cakes in jasmine and macha red bean flavors are on offer at Php1,450 net. Not to be missed is the specially curated hamper which includes the signature fish shaped Nian Gao, a bottle of wine and other festive treats for Php5,888 net.

Guests can feast on authentic Cantonese specialties with Summer Palace’s set menus for groups or families of 4 people. Patrons can choose among the Wealth set Menu priced at Php9,388++, Prosperity set menu priced at Php10,888++ or Longevity set menu priced at Php21,888++ from Chinese New Year Eve (January 31) until February 15, 2022, the day of the Lantern Festival which marks the end of the lunar year celebration. A selection of Chinese New Year dishes is also available such as Fresh Salmon with Snow Pear Yee Sang, Seafood Poon Choi, and Crispy Squirrel Fish with Sweet and Sour sauce and Pine Nuts to name a few.

To cap off this heavenly oriental feast, diners on January 31 and February 1 get to pick an ang pao bearing vouchers of up to 25% savings on the food bill for the guest’s next dining experience at Summer Palace. 

Marking the start of another year, this Chinese New Year opens the year of the Water Tiger, a year of action and adventure.
