Buklod

A.) Plenary Talks and (B.) Breakout Sessions

This part of the program will enable the students to listen to well known speakers on their field of specialties. This year, plenary talks will include Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression , Heath and Social Media, and a talk on Specialist vs Generalist. On breakout sessions, students will have small group discussions regarding the plenaries to assess their understanding and what are the stands or their reactions regarding the talks.

(C.) Research Competition

The APMC-SN recognizes that doctors must not be content with what is already known, but should, to the extent of their abilities, expand the sphere of knowledge in the medical field. The annual APMC-SN National Medical Student Research Competition (NMSRC) aims to develop this skill in aspiring doctors by providing them an avenue to showcase their past and on-going researches. There are two categories that can be entered: Basic Sciences and Translational/Clinical Research and Public Health, each of which will have their own sets of winners.

(D.) Clinico-Pathological Conference

As medical doctors, one of the most important skills that need to be developed is diagnosing the disease of patients. With this in mind, APMC-SN holds an annual Clinico-Pathologic Case (CPC) Competition, which tests the participants' skill in reaching a correct diagnoses given certain findings. More importantly, however, the competition highlights the importance of deductive reasoning, which is important not only in terms of diagnosis, but also in other aspects of being a doctor.

E.) Medical Quiz Bee

One must have a sufficient knowledge on the basic and clinical sciences to be able to become a good medical doctor. The APMC-SN, knowing this, hosts an annual National Medical Quiz Bee (NMQB) designed to challenge the participants, as well as to reward those who have gone the extra mile in studying and learning about the medical field. The quiz bee encompasses most, if not all, aspects of medical education, including the basic sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, etc) and clinical sciences (Pediatrics, Surgery, Internal Medicine, etc).

(F.) Socials Night

This is the last event of the first day wherein the medical students from different schools have a chance to get to know each other, strengthen relationships and build connections.
