About the Event

Everyone is invited to the first-ever Green Carpet event of Cinemalaya entitled,“SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya” – a bike ride-concert-outdoor screening all in one! The green carpet is this coming Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the front lawn of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) starting at 4 PM.

Bikers and bike enthusiasts are invited to join the bike ride around the CCP complex at 4:30 PM to be led by bike organizations Firefly Brigade and Tiklop. Edward Fernandez of Gig Manila who wrote and performed for the Official Soundtrack of the film, Lakbay2Love, and other up and coming artists will serenade us with acoustic OPM. Prepare your hearts as Spoken Word artist Jemy Damian and Rod Marmol of Utot Catalog share their own hugot as well.

The main star of the event, though, is the film showing of “Lakbay2Love”, dubbed as the “first local bike movie in the Philippines” starring Dennis Trillo and Solenn Heussaff. Directed by Ellen Ongkeko-Marfil, Lakbay2Love is a coming-of-age love story that uses biking as a vital storytelling medium depicting one’s journey towards nature and one’s self. Another thing to watch out for is the amazing nature cinematography as viewers feast on scenic spots around the country.

Event-goers and fans of Lakbay2Love lead actor, Dennis Trillo, will be thrilled to know that the hunk actor will be making an appearance to thank his fans and greet his fellow bikers.

Audiences are in for another special treat as the team raffles off goodies with folding Viper Bicycles as the main prize! To join the raffle, visit the Lakbay2Love booth at the Cinemalaya Festival at the CCP or check out their event page, SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya on Facebook.

The event is on a “pay what you can” basis. The organizers of SineMusiKalye sa Cinemalaya hope viewers get to fall in love with biking and nature once again and push for sustainable lifestyle and road-sharing. 10% of the collections will go to the family of the recent fallen biker, Mark Garalde.

Lakbay2Love has been graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board. It has been touring in different schools and organizations since its mainstream release last Feb. 3, 2016.
