Bistro Remedios Celebrates 25 Years with a P25 Buffet
Savor the best in Filipino cooking as Bistro Remedios celebrates its 25th year with a P25 Anniversary Buffet of its special and favorite dishes on November 18, 2009.
Bistro Remedios, hailed as the "Filipino restaurant with a Kapampangan accent", started the practice of serving home-cooked Pinoy meals in a bistro setting. Through the years, dishes such as Knockout Knuckles, Betute, Crispy Tadyang, Paco fern and Tomato Salad, Crispy Camaru, Kare-kare, and many more delighted diners, both local and foreign, for their fresh flavors while the restaurant's warm and tasteful ambience of folk art and authentic, antique memorabilia added to this unique dining experience.
When Bistro Remedios opened in 1984, no restaurant served Filipino food in the casual dining atmosphere the restaurant is known for. Diners then had to rely on roadside eateries, turo-turo and market stalls if they wished to have a meal of Pinoy favorites away from their homes. Some five-star establishments did serve Filipino food, but it was merely a token entry in their menus.
LJC Group founder Larry J. Cruz redefined the way Filipino food was presented. By innovating on Filipino food and plating them as you would international dishes, he introduced diners to a new way of enjoying what was considered roadside fare. Bistro Remedios in Malate slowly became a popular destination for many foreigners who want a sampling of real good Filipino food. The cheerful setting and the personalized service help in overcoming whatever apprehensions they may have over food that is foreign to them. Today the restaurant is one of the most recommended stop for tourists, balikbayans and Pinoy's who simple want the best in Philippine cuisine.
Bistro Remedios' Anniversary Buffet is by invitation only. Invitees are only allowed to reserve up to four guests for the event. There will be two buffet services: from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Invited guests may choose from either schedule, depending on the availability of seats. Only 280 seats are available for the anniversary promo. Buffet tickets worth P25 each must be bought to confirm the reservations of invitees. The 25th Anniversary of Bistro Remedios falls on the 30th year of the LJC Restaurant chain which also owns and manages Café Adriatico, Café Havana, Larry's Café and Bar, Abe, Fely J's Kitchen, ITM Dance Club, LaMer Catering and Abe's Farm.
