CCP Launches Sopas, Sining, at Sorbetes For Thyphoon Victims
posted on Friday, October 30, 2009Sopas, Sining at Sorbetes (SSS), the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) annual arts appreciation program for the underprivileged Filipino children and youth complemented with a feeding program, will be implemented for the children typhoon victims runs from October 28 up to November 13, 2009.

Through the CCP’s Outreach and Exchange Division, this year’s SSS aims to contribute to the healing process of the Filipino children/youth who suffered trauma brought about by the recent typhoon, landslide and flooding. Joining the SSS team are the CCP’s resident companies (Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company, UST Symphony Orchestra, Ballet Philippines, Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Tanghalang Pilipino, Philippine High School for the Arts), other top performing artists & arts organizations (Barasoain Kalinangan, Foundation Inc., Museo Pambata, Alitaptap, University of the East Chorale, Ballet Manila, Philippine Educational Theater Association, Kaloob Philippine Music & Dance Ministry, Magna Kultura) together with Mayumi Morales, Ony Carcamo, Gary Lim, Mymy Davao, and Love Anover, who will perform and conduct various art activities at 3:00pm for at least 500 kids per site. The CCP Outreach Sopas, Sining at Sorbetes will visit the following communities:

Rosa, Laguna; November 12-Dagupan, Pangasinan ; and November 13- Barangay Samara Elem.
